Evaluation of Shoot Day

Our Shoot Day

Tuesday was so successful. I was very excited when I woke up that morning. I felt as though I was prepared as the night before I had set up Bethany's costume along with lots of make up. We worked 9am - 6pm...

From 9am - 10:30 am we worked on the girls/dancers make up... We were hoping that we would've been done with make up after 30 minutes - 45 minutes, but it took a lot longer than this. We copied 'tribal make up' pictures for inspiration, and this is what I came out with:

Once we had finished make up we set up the dancers in the studio and filmed all their dance choreographed bits. We finished this about 12:30 pm and had lunch. After lunch we used the dancers for a short amount of time again where we used them crawling up to Max, who was the vulnerable boy/the prey to the girls...

We then called in Bethany to do her lip syncing with small movement, and then after this we followed up with Ezra lip syncing. This took us up till about 4 pm.

We then had to wait for our final cast, the two boys and Max to film Max being chased by the two boys. This took from about 5 pm through till 6 pm.

We luckily managed to film everything we wanted. One slip up we had was that our skirts, for the dancers, didn't deliver to us in time, therefore we had to find a back-up pretty quickly... these are the dresses we ended up using and they worked really well.

I think what was really hard about the day was just getting control of when we needed who. Because one of our actors was a teacher, his schedule changed therefore we had to mix the shoot day up. We really had to get on top of who we needed when etc.

Rough cut of our Idea of Digipak

One of my group members, Liv, managed to start editing some of the photos that we took for our animatic and test shots to see if we could start creating a look for our Digipak to get some ideas... and this is what they ended up like:

We then put all the photos together to create a 4 panel Digipak and this is what our rough idea has come out like:

Research of Homepages in correct genre

Here are some DJ Websites that my group came across for inspiration:

You can see there is a clear pattern shown that all the websites have the artists name in a bold font, central or left at the top of the page. They have fairly simple layouts which are easy to use.
