The idea of Web 2.0 is that lots of people can add in more material together, rather than just choosing one thing to look at... it's more interactive. Whereas, Web 1.0 is made by someone. People can watch it but have no interaction...
The theory of 'Making is Connecting' allows people to interact. Its pleasurable for people to create things. They like to feel they're doing something and linking it with others. Getting recognition for their work e.g by commenting, sharing or liking certain things on the web through things such as Youtube, Flickr, Tumblr etc.
Me and a partner had to create a presentation on someone who was doing exactly this... we did it on 'Tim Knoll' a BMX-er who shared his stunts and tricks on Youtube...
This was the task we were set:
Create a
presentation to demonstrate your example, covering any interesting information
as well as the following points:
· Who has made the text?
· How have they made it (using what
equipment/technologies?)
· What are the most creative aspects of
the production?
· Why have they produced the text, what
were their motivations, what did they get out of making it? What did they get
out of sharing it?
· Has the text reached a large or small
audience? How has it reached that audience? (Facebook? Twitter? TV? Newspapers?
Blogs?)
· What reaction has the text had?
