What is a Digipak?

A Digipak is a modern approach to CD Packaging... it allows for inclusion of more information about the band or the artist.

The conventions of a digipak:

The front panel -

  1. Usually an image that symbolises the artist/album
  2. Either the artist name/album name or both
  3. Will include a promotional sticker for tours, who it features, the price, if it includes explicit language - this all hugely depends on the genre of the album
  4. The name of the artist on the album will usually be a larger font, above album name, but both different fonts so we can see words clearly
  5. There is always a maximum of 2 fonts otherwise the message/theme of the album struggles to come across to the audience

The back panel -

  1. Will have the bar code
  2. List of tracks
  3. Perhaps more imagery
  4. The owners of copyright
  5. The logo's of record companies that helped produced ect...
Inside of Digipak -
  1. Includes visual design (fonts, colour, design)
  2. Established font of front cover continued on inner panel
